Lynda Foley - Winner Businesswomen of the Year 2010, Employed 

 

 

Lynda Foley a former graduate of Dublin College of Catering is employed as General Manager of the 4 Star Harlequin Boutique Hotel.  She previously worked for Irish & International Hotel Groups. In 2004 Lynda took up her first GM role with the Carlton Atlantic Coast Hotel, In Westport.

She obtained the four stars grading for both Atlantic Coast & Harlequin Hotel. During her time in Westport, Lynda led her team to achieve 4 stars with the AA & RAC, 4 RAC Dining awards, 2 AA Rosettes and Failte Ireland Optimus award & Best Practice in Business award. The Hotel was runner up in Mayo Business Awards. From applying her greening program in the Carlton Atlantic Coast Hotel she achieved Gold Medal in the Greening Hospitality Awards for two years running, and the overall Gold Medal award for Rain Water Harvesting, where Lynda was a speaker at The National EPA Conference in 2008 on rain water harvesting.In 2008 Lynda moved to Harlequin Hotel, where she is General Manager. In 2010, she won Silver Medal for Harlequin Hotel.

 

With working full time and a young family Lynda some how managed  to go back to her studies and studied on line in 2007/8 in conjunction with Failte Ireland and graduated from Cornell University in April 2008 in Executive Management Development in Tourism. In 2009, she continued her studies further and graduated with a Certification of Executive Leadership from Cornell University. Her philosophy is - You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.
