Award Entry Criteria T&Cs

Please read the below carefully before submitting your application

 

  • The applicant must be a fully paid up member for the 2019 year
  • Each individual member can enter up to two categories : One standard category and the STEM category
  • Each section on the awards applications for the category must be completed
  • Only award applications submitted via the online application through the website will be accepted
  • Where a business has corporate membership, each fully paid up employee will be eligible to enter the employee category
  • All applicants must own at least 15% of their business. This does not apply to two Employee categories, the Social Enterprise Category and if entering the STEM Category as an employee not an owner.
  • Franchises and partnerships can enter.
  • Professionals such as Solicitors, Accountants, and Doctors can enter under the appropriate categories
  • Professional Artists can enter under the appropriate categories
  • Businesses/individuals can nominate themselves or be nominated by other Network Members (membership must be fully paid by nominee and nominator)
  • Applicants must not have been a winner of any Network branch business awards in the prior 2 years
  • All prior winners may enter within the 2-year period if their category changes (eg. from emerging business to SME category)
  • IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS

All applicants are advised to note

  • It is the applicants responsibility to ensure they submit a fully complete application form and adhere to the entry criteria and Terms & Conditions
  • Network Ireland reserve the right to exclude any applications that are incomplete and where criteria, eligibility, instructions and due dates are not met.
  • Once submitted the application form is deemed to be final and cannot be edited.
  • At this time the application form cannot be downloaded to complete offline. The online application form must be completed and submitted at the one time. Therefore the applicant is advised to compose the answers to the questions in word and copy and paste across. However it is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure all sections on the online application form have been correctly completed for submission.
  • Applicants BIO information, name, company details, social media details and headshot will be used in the promotion of finalists at branch and national level where relevant: press releases, social media posts, award certificates, printed material
  • Profile Photos must be professional head shots as these will be used for promotional purposes in future. It must be at least a 300 DPI photo. Company logos are not acceptable.
  • An application form will be deemed not accepted if an appropriate head shot is not included and therefore will not be passed for judging
  • Incomplete applications and incomplete sections of the application will not meet the judging criteria
  • Applicants are advised not to exceed the word count on their applications as
    their application will not be accepted
  • Any additional documentation including cover letters/emails added to the application will not be reviewed
  • Due dates for receipt of applications at branch level must be adhered to
  • Due date for receipt of applications and/or any additional information for shortlist selection process must be adhered to
  • Network Ireland reserves the right to corroborate the contents of the information provided in the application
  • Due dates for receipt of any additional information required for the final selection process must be adhered to
  • For an awards category to run at national level there must be at least 3 finalists
  • Where there are less than three entrants in a category at branch level we will try to create a regional category of at least 3 entrants from those branches where the category was unable to run
  • If there are enough applicants to create a regional category those applicants will be judged by application form only by 1 set of independent judges.
  • The winner from this regional category will be announced as winner in their home branch
  • National interviews will be held in person on the week of the 9 th September in Dublin. This is a mandatory step in the process. Please ensure when applying you are available on these dates
  • Please note the closing dates for receipt of application form

Judging of Applications – Branch Level

  • Each branch operates a standardised scoring criteria
  • Each application will be judged based on the application
  • Some branches may ask applicants to attend for short interview
  • Incomplete applications will not meet the full judging criteria
  • No supplementary information will be accepted or considered in the judging process
  • Judges must be independent of the Network Branch and Network Ireland
  • Individual judges shall not act as a judge for more than 3 successive years in any one branch
  • Any conflicts must be noted at the outset to allow for an alternate judge
  • Where a conflict of interest arises with a judge and an applicant, a substitute judge must be used
  • All shortlisted candidates will be required to attend the National Awards Gala
  • Network Ireland reserves the right to corroborate the contents of the information provided in the application
  • Network Ireland reserve the right to exclude any applications that are incomplete and where criteria, eligibility, instructions and due dates are not met

Judging of Applications – National Level

  • The judging criteria is the same as that at branch level
  • The branch application as submitted is the basis for the national awards judging
  • Incomplete branch applications will not proceed to national finals
  • Applicants shortlisted may be required to submit some additional supplementary information
  • A company must hold a current tax clearance certificate to proceed to national awards
  • Judges must be independent of the Network branch and Network Ireland
  • Interviews will be held for the selection of the overall National Winners
  • All national award finalists are required to attend the National Awards Gala
  • Network Ireland reserves the right to corroborate the contents of the information provided in the application
  • Network Ireland reserve the right to exclude any applications that are incomplete and where criteria, eligibility, instructions and due dates are not met

Branch Award Winners

  • Each branch winner will be required to attend and partake in the Network branch publicity and PR surrounding the awards
  • The network Branch is responsible for organising publicity and PR pertaining to the awards and winners as a whole and not responsible for individual PR opportunities     of the branch winners
  • Branch winners are free to manage their own personal and business PR surrounding the win
  • Any PR and publicity should contain specific reference to Network Branch and Network Ireland as prescribed
  • Any promotions should be in good taste and in keeping with accepted business and professional standards and in no way, bring the Network branch, its members or     Network Ireland into disrepute
  • The winners will be expected to attend the regular monthly branch meetings until the next branch award winners are announced
  • The winners will be asked by the branch to assist in promoting and encouraging other members to be involved and partake in future awards

National Award Winners

  • Each National winner will be required to attend and partake in the Network Ireland National and branch publicity and PR surrounding the awards
  • Network Ireland is responsible for organising publicity and PR pertaining to the awards and winners as a whole and not responsible for individual PR opportunities of the   National winners
  • National winners are free to manage their own personal and business PR surrounding the awards
  • Any PR and publicity should contain specific reference to Network Branch and Network Ireland as prescribed
  • Any promotions should be in good taste and in keeping with business and professional standards and in no way bring the Network branch, its members or Network Ireland into disrepute
  • The winners will be expected to attend the regular monthly branch meetings until the next award winners are announced
  • The winners will be asked by Network Ireland to assist in promoting and encouraging other members to be involved and partake in future awards

Disputes

In the event of any circumstance arising that has not been considered, the first instance is to contact your Network Branch Business Awards Coordinator. If the branch does not have a designated business awards coordinator, then the branch President should be contacted.

In the event that the issue cannot be resolved at branch level, the Branch President/Business Awards coordinator will consult with in the first instance, the National Business Awards Coordinator.

If further consultation is required, it will be discussed with the National Executive where a decision will be made and communicated to the branch. This decision will be final.
