Network Ireland Limerick is a forum for women in business, the professions and the arts.
Our May event will be a gala evening at No. 1 Pery Square Hotel, where the winners of our Businesswoman of the Year Awards will be announced. Sponsored by LEO Limerick and AIB, this year the awards will be contested by 26 businesswomen across 5 categories.
The 5 categories include; Small SME – 10 employees or less, Large SME – greater than 10 employees, Best Emerging New Business, Best Employee – Shining Star, Arts.
Wine & Canapés served on arrival, followed by guest speaker and awards presentation.

About the Guest Speaker – Lorraine Heskin
Lorraine Heskin is the CEO of Gourmet Food Parlour. Hailing from a small village in Co. Galway, she studied in University of Limerick before heading off to New York for 4 years working in a diverse range of food businesses. On returning to Dublin, Lorraine made the decision to open their first 25 seater café in Dun Laoghaire in 2006. Through hard work and dedication, Gourmet Food Parlour has grown into a very successful business employing a team of almost 300 people across the group. With 8 locations across Dublin, (Dun Laoghaire, Swords, Malahide, Santry, Deli Bar Swords, Skerries, House Leeson Street, AIG) their newest restaurant in Salthill, Galway and their ever-growing Catering & Event Business, it has been a busy 13 years.
Lorraine’s hands on approach to running the business is the driving force behind GFP. Her dedication, determination & hard work filters down throughout the company. She creates a positive working environment throughout Head office and each location. Lorraine often speaks of Team GFP and how the strength of the brand is down to every person that works for her. Lorraine sets high standards and expectations for her team, which constantly challenges each individual to strive for better, and to ensure there is attention paid to every detail. To become a successful business, there needs to be a very committed, hard-working and driven leader at the helm and Lorraine is certainly all of these.
Lorraine was recently a runner up in the Entrepreneur of The Year Category at the Image Women in Business Awards 2018. You will often see Lorraine featured on various panel discussions and networking events. As a leader in the food & beverage industry, Lorraine has been a judge for the Network Ireland Women in Business Awards, she has also been invited as the Keynote speaker for Network Ireland at many separate networking events in 2018 and 2019 and as a guest speaker at the infamous AIB Future Sparks events in 2018 and 2019. Gourmet Food Parlour recently won a “Deloitte Best Managed Company” for 2019 a truly proud moment for this Irish company.
About the Awards:
Network Ireland Businesswoman of the Year Awards celebrate the excellence, professionalism, vision and leadership of its members. Regional branch winners are put forward to compete at the Network Ireland National Business Awards. The regional Network Ireland Branch Businesswoman of the Year Awards take place between May and early June at separate events throughout the country. The Network Ireland National Businesswoman of the Year of the Year Awards will take place at a Gala Ceremony in September.
