For our November event, we are delighted to partner once again with Network Cork member Cork Institute of Technology and offer a morning of learning, networking and development. The variety and content of these six workshops have been designed to facilitate a broad range of personal and professional interests within our membership cohort. The workshop providers are all experts in their respective fields and we are excited to collaborate with them on this event.
You are invited to avail of 3 x 45 minute workshops at the highly-subsidised rate of just €25.

Please be advised that each workshop has a maximum of 25 attendees and advance booking is essential. Please keep in mind that since there is limited capacity for each workshop, places shall be offered on a first come, first served basis. We will endeavour to allocate your preferences but in the event that your chosen workshop is already full, we shall contact you to offer an alternative.

8am Option #1 Video Editing Crash Course with Judie Russell of Vidacademy
The one-hour Vidacademy crash course will offer an introduction to mobile video editing and includes:
- A step by step instruction to editing ‘montage to music’ video using a free app
- A live advanced mobile editing demo using an affordable mobile editing app.
OBJECTIVES OF THE CRASH COURSE
Participants are asked to come to the workshop with:
- Two apps downloaded to their phones: Quik and Kinemaster
The Vidacademy was established 2015 to make video storytelling accessible to everyone. They achieve this through training workshops, one to ones, online courses and workbooks. They empower individuals and organisations to share their visual stories with the world by demonstrating the best processes, apps, tools and platforms. The Vidacademy believes that once a person has the knowledge to make one video, they will have the ability and confidence to make many more.
Judie Russell graduated from University College Cork in 2006 with Masters in Business Economics. Over the next 5 years, she lived and worked in 11 countries and in Costa Rica she presented online videos and produced over 100 minutes of YouTube content weekly from live shows to industry news stories.
On returning to Ireland she directed, produced, presented and edited a magazine show that broadcast weekly on SKY. Then continuing on to edit RTE’s longest running hidden camera show “The Fear”, and she was part of the small team behind the box office hit “The Young Offenders” the fastest Irish film to reach the 1 million mark at the box office in 2015.
Judie spoke at MojoCon 2016, the largest mobile journalism conference in the world, about how she turned her passion for story telling into a mobile video training business and has since spoken at a number of conferences and events. She lectures a communications module in University College Cork, is a qualified project manager and a dedicated Toastmaster.
8am Option #2 The Importance of Understanding Your Numbers with Billy O’Connor, B.Comm., F.C.A. of the Discovery Partnership
Billy specialises in working closely with SME owners and managers. He has an in-depth knowledge, firm grasp and understanding of how they think and behave and has built an excellent track record and reputation for partnering and empathising with this sector.
Feedback from satisfied clients continues to testify to his unique approach and his knowledge of business development, sales, finance and his offering of practical advice is of the highest standard. Billy would train, mentor and work with c.250 clients per year on business growth and business start-up. This workshop is primarily aimed at business owners but anyone with an interest in knowing more about their figures is welcome.
9am Option #1 Health & Nutrition with Jennifer and Niall O’Callaghan
Jen & Niall of Everyday NFW are Health & Wellbeing Specialists. They will be giving a taste of their Lifestyle Enhancement Program that they deliver to many Organisations. This program targets the areas of Nutrition, Physical Fitness, Self Care, Stress Management, Sleep and Mental Fitness to enhance lifestyles at home and at work. Niall & Jen have delivered many successful Health & Wellbeing programs to businesses of all sizes over the last 5 years. They were instrumental in developing and delivering Pure Results Bootcamp with owner Kathryn Thomas of RTE & Operation Transformation. They will share their experiences along with the tools, products, habits and natural solutions that they utilise daily to optimise performance and to live a healthy & happy lifestyle. 9am Option #2 Focus on Priorities: How we think about time matters! with Gillian McGrath of Change Grow Succeed

10am Option #1 Digital Marketing Strategy with Vivienne Griffin
Businesses are under increasing pressure to ensure that their brand exists on as many digital platforms as possible. This workshop examines the key strategic questions a business should consider when evaluating whether or not to extend its online marketing activity across multiple digital platforms.
Vivienne lectures in digital marketing in Cork Institute of Technology and is the programme director for CIT’s MSc Digital Marketing Strategy – a part-time 2 year Masters aimed at people in full-time employment. This Masters programme delivers students who are at the forefront of knowledge pertaining to digital marketing strategy and digital leadership.
Prior to CIT, Vivienne spent almost 10 years working in Google’s EMEA headquarters in Dublin. She worked across a variety of roles including leading digital advertising teams and product operations teams and managing key relationships with advertising agencies and partners in the EMEA and Latin American regions.

11am Betty and Miriam from Mojo for Leaders are going to give a 15-minute presentation on leadership.
Mojo For Leaders are committed to nurturing the spirit inside all leaders, that ‘Mojo”, that when allowed to grow enables us to be a powerful positive force in our world. We have a special interest in helping women leaders fully claim our space at the leadership table and have had the privilege of working with some amazing courageous women who have participated in our SOAR Leadership Programmes, which we researched and designed especially to meet the unique needs of female leaders.
In this short session Betty O’Callaghan and Miriam O’Connell will share insights on what helps women step up to our next level in leadership – making the shift from ‘doing’ leadership activities to truly feeling like and ‘be-ing’ leaders, grounded in our leadership purpose, aligned at head, heart, and gut level – energised for each of our unique journeys.
With extensive experience in management, leadership, executive coaching and Human Resource Management and a background in financial services, Betty has a HDip in Coaching & Coaching Psychology and an MSc in Personal & Management Coaching. Betty’s work centres on helping leaders be the best they can be and she is inspired by the insights, courage and capacity of leaders and managers she works with. Miriam’s background is in IT Project Management where she realised that the key to real, sustainable, success was engaging with your people at a meaningful, consistent, and honest level and her life purpose for the last 14 years has centered on helping leaders successfully lead change. Miriam has an MSc in Organisational Change, a B.A. in Psychology & Sociology, and Post Graduate Diplomas in Computer Science, Applied Project Management and in Systems Analysis & Design.
