IRISH GUIDE DOGS CHARITY PARTNER FOR NETWORK IRELAND

CONFERENCE

€5k fundraising target has been set

Network Ireland has chosen the Irish Guide Dogs as its charity partner for its 2019 Conference and Annual Awards. The organisation is aiming to raise €5k to help the charity organisation.·

More than 250 delegates will be attending the Network Ireland National Conference and Awards Ceremony on the 27th of September. The conference, which will be hosted by Sonya Lennon is one of the biggest of its kind in Ireland for professional women. Network Ireland President, Helen Wycherley has decided to partner with the Irish Guide Dogs as she has a long association with the charity. President of Network Ireland, Helen Wycherley said: “A partnership with Irish Guide Dogs is a commitment by us to make a tangible difference. We will aim to raise €5,000 which will allow us to sponsor a puppy on the start of their training journey and we will have the opportunity to name our puppy too! When I was 18 I was a puppy walker for the Irish Guide Dogs. Which meant my family and I undertook to raise Ellie, from when she was seven weeks old until she was nearly 15months. She had an amazing impact on our family and I remember her fondly always. She successfully graduated from training and went on to become an assistance dog for a vision impaired woman. I have been a supporter of the charity since. We are getting very close to our national conference and awards which will recognise the outstanding success and achievements of our members, it will be a day and night of inspiration and celebration. I look forward to welcoming everyone to West Cork.”

Tim O’Mahony, General Manager, Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind said: “Many thanks to Network Ireland for sponsoring a year's training for one of our pups who hopefully will go on to become a Guide or Assistance Dog. It costs over €5 million annually to run our organisation and we rely on 85% of our funding through sponsorship and fundraising to continue to deliver vital services throughout Ireland. Support like this enables us to change the lives of those who are vision impaired and families of children with autism.”

Network Ireland is Ireland’s longest established and leading female focused business network. The conference and awards will take place at the Celtic Ross Hotel, West Cork.
