Mentoring for Success Programme

Mentoring for Success

Dear Member,

Did you know that one of the benefits of being a Network Ireland member is that you have access to a broad range of expertise to help you grow you career or business?

The Mentoring for Success programme was set up to support you as you navigate your life, business or career. It is a peer to peer support network where you can talk to another Member who will act as a sounding board for you to explore your worries, challenges or opportunities that you face in your professional life.

We have listed all of the current mentors on the following pages. Please feel free to contact anyone from the list and you can set up an online call with your mentor at a time that is convenient for you both.

All the mentors signing up to this panel are doing so voluntarily with the aim of helping others succeed in their journey. We are very grateful for their time and for making this programme a success.

We would like to say a huge thank you to Sarah Leather and Muireann Fitzmaurice who have done wonderful work to get the Mentoring Panel to where it is. If you have any questions at all please don’t hesitate to email us mentoring@networkireland.ie

Kind regards,

Anna & Ashleigh

Mentoring for Success Team

HOW DOES IT WORK?

How do I book a mentor?

Look through the list of mentors and contact them directly via email to arrange a meeting online at a time of convenience to both.

Mentors

Peer mentors bring expertise, industry specific knowledge or expertise to their member colleague. The role of the Mentor is as an enabler and not as a consultant; this means they are not present to carry out analysis or specific projects but rather to help the fellow member develop the skills to do this for themselves.

Cost

There is no exchange of money or services for the mentoring.

Time

Typically, a peer mentoring session will take between 45 minutes in duration.

Number of sessions

Members can avail of 1 session from each mentor. There is no limit to the number of mentoring sessions from mentors on the panel that you can avail of during the year. The commitment from the mentor on this programme is that they provide 1 session to the mentee. Any extra sessions are at the sole discretion of the peer mentor (not the mentee).

Mentor agreement

The mentor should email a copy of the mentor agreement to the mentee in advance of the meeting. This outlines the boundaries of the relationship as part of this programme.

ROLE OF MENTORS & MENTEES

THE ROLE OF A MENTOR

• Demonstrate honesty, integrity and respect for the mentee throughout the process

• Provide constructive feedback to the mentee

• Challenge in a respectful way the mentees to ensure their goals and actions address their key concerns or development areas

• Maintain overall focus on agreed goals

• Mentors follow through on all agreed actions

• Mentors respect the confidentiality of the relationship

THE ROLE OF A MENTEE

• Read the Mentor Agreement document in advance of the mentoring session

• Mentees should demonstrate honesty, integrity and respect for the mentor

• Mentee recognizes the boundaries of the mentor’s role

• Open to listen to the feedback from the mentor

• Recognise that this is a discussion only and any and all actions are the responsibility of the mentee

• Mentees respect the confidentiality of the relationship

NETWORK IRELAND ROLE

• Branch Presidents are there as a support for mentors and mentees to follow up on any concerns

THANK YOU

On behalf of all our members, I would sincerely like to say THANK YOU to the Mentors on the Mentoring for Success panel.

You are giving up your time for the benefit of the members and we all appreciate it. As a voluntary organisation we rely on the good will and contribution from our members. We hope that by working together we will enable each other to reach for our dreams and achieve our goals.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact me.
