Mary McHugh is a visionary entrepreneur and an experienced psychotherapist with over 20 years of expertise in mental health and emotional wellbeing. As the founder of CounsellingOnline.ie, Mary has redefined accessibility to therapy in Ireland in 2011 by creating the first innovative platform that connects individuals with compassionate, professional support from the comfort of their own homes. She supports a team of 30 therapists who work under the umbrella of CounsellingOnline.ie
Her dedication to making therapy inclusive and flexible stems from her years of work with diverse groups, including organizations such as the Irish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, Mayo Rape Crisis Centre, CURA, and Mayo Women Support Services. A trailblazer in her field, Mary holds an MSc (Hons) in Mindfulness-Based Interventions from University College Dublin and is accredited with the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP) and the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP).
